Wow!!! The last month has been a whirlwind!!! It all began with a delayed flight out of Jackson, then a cancelled flight out of Chicago, and a rebooking (fortunately) on Christmas Eve out of O'Hare into Raleigh (we had to spend the night in Chicago). Through several trips back and forth from Raleigh to Morehead City, we celebrated Christ' birth with our own families, had a wonderfully great Ho-Down Party to celebrate our coming marriage, a Recipe & Cooking shower for Allison, the marriage of Matt and Nat Felton, and Estella's FIRST birthday!!! We had a wonderful 2 week visit at home, but if flew by!!!!
We got back to the cold of Wyoming on January 5th. It has actually been warmer here than at home lately....a rare and strange winter here; it hasn't snowed in a couple of weeks, though the ground is still covered, and has been really warm (like in the 30/40s!!!)
Last weekend we were gate keepers for the Junior Olympics ski race at the Village in Jackson, we got a free lift ticket out of it!!! (which saves us $87 each!) It was quite repetitive, but really cool to see 10-12 year olds flying by on skis at 60 miles per hour!!! It was a gorgeous day, we even took our coats off and soaked up some sun while standing there judging for 5 hours!!
Another exciting thing....there is this Brazilian guy, Andreas, who is here with some program to practice speaking English. Well, the lady at the library told him about our bible study, and he has come the last 2 weeks!!! He is so excited to be around Americans, and has a wonderful, joyful heart. We have given him a Bible, and he is really excited to read and understand it!! We dropped him off at his apartment after bible study on Monday, and he asked us to come in. We hung out with him and his 6 other Brazilian roommates for over an hour. They were so excited to talk with us and have invited us for a Brazilian dinner some night soon!!! We are really looking forward to hanging out with them all some more until they leave in March!!
We are still looking for a place to live once we get married. We almost had one the other day, a really cool log cabin up close to the lake, with a gorgeous view....but the lady that called about it a couple of hours before us took it!! We were a little bummed....but know that the Lord will have something for us!! It is really hard to find places to rent here, because of all of the oil field workers who stay here for months at the time, and it is REALLY expensive to live here. Pray for us in finding a house to rent!!!
Other than that....life is as normal!! Work by day, with Bible study and hockey by night! We have been skiing the last 2 weekends, but the snow is melting like crazy right now....so we do need some more powder!
Until next time,
