This past weekend Chris, David Friend, and I (Allison..duh) went to Salt Lake City for a Dave Ramsey conference. Dave Ramsey is an evangelical financial planner, with TV and radio shows on Fox.......to cut it short Chris is obsessed with him. Anyways....we headed down to Utah on Friday after work. Four or so hours later we arrived to Park City. We stayed at the Washington School Inn, a quaint and visionary bed and breakfast right in the heart of down town Park City. Park City is a super cool ski town, with an awesome downtown street full of shops and restaurants. We walked to dinner at No Name Saloon, a famous bar, and along the way I got my TOMs!!!! This awesome boutique had the TOMS shoes that I had been wanting for a long time, that were sold out online!!! The owners even went to school in NC and were so excited for us to come in there and talk with them!!!! We had a fun deliciously fun dinner and then all hung out in the hot tub in the Inn. The next morning we got up early and had a yummy, fresh breakfast and walked the street a little more. All of the shops were closed, but they were actually setting up a roller dereby race, fundraiser for the elementary school in downtown. Chris actually ran a test run in one of the kids derby cars!!! After our morning in Park City, we drove down into Salt Lake. We drove around a bit, and finally made it to down town in search of a Chic-Fil-A!!!! which actually was torn down for construction, so our quest of the "original chicken sandwich" failed. We walked around the walking street/shopping area and around the LDS temple and "empire" for a bit. Then we headed to the "E" Center for a lesson from Dave Ramsey. The 6-hour lesson taught us some great life lessons about money......the same ones we (Chris mostly) hear on Fox and the Financial Peace University class everyday!!! No....I am kidding.....it was actually really good. After that we stoped in a Red Lobster for a wonderfully yummy and different dinner (nothing like that near us here in Wyoming)!!! The 4 hour drive back was full of financial conversation and a series of naps by me...haha. We had a great weekend!!!! It was soooo nice to experience something new and refreshing....and get out of Pinedale!!!!
