Man.....if you want to experience exhileration, then pack everything you own in your car and drive accross the country!!! Well that is what I did one week ago today. Mom, Dad, and I squeezed into my MDX and headed west. It was quite a trip. We journeyed through Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and ended in Pinedale, Wyoming (2367 miles later). We had a great time in Nashville, where we visited the Grand Ole Oprey and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Musuem. Then we rode up the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and later tested our luck at a dingy riverboat casino along the Mississippi River. The next day we drove for hundreds of miles and ten hours through the boring, field-infested state of Kansas....that was a long day. But we ended in the great, clean, and "earthy-crunchy" city of Denver. The next day we drove up into Wyoming, where I got to finally be with my anxious fiancee'!!!!
We took a day to settle in to my "apartment" and rest from all of the traveling. Then on Saturday we experienced Jackson Hole, my parents for the first time! We saw lots of buffalo, a mama moose with her baby in a stream, the "beautimous" Teton mountains!!! We ate buffalo burgers and sat on saddle barstools and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and on our second visit to the bar, my Dad became buddies with the master distiller for Jack Daniels!!
Sadly, on Sunday, my parents had to leave. What a terrible day that was!!! It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done. But I know that all of the sadness will be worth it! I am so excited about this new adventure in Wyoming, with my soon-to-be husband!!!! I miss everyone at home terribbly, but I am excited for this special time in my life!
I will be posting pictures soon!! Chao for now!
